UNS — Six teams of Student Creativity Program (PKM) from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta successfully brought home medals from the 33rd National Student Science Week (Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa Nasional – Pimnas) 2020 hosted by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Saturday (28/11/2020). The six medals are 1 gold medal for the poster category, two silver medals for the poster category, two bronze medals for the poster category, and one favorite medal.
The Vice-Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs UNS, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo confirmed the achievements of UNS students. “Alhamdulillah, we successfully won one favorite medal, one gold medal poster, two silver medals poster, two bronze medals poster. From 23 PKM teams that participated in Pimnas, six brought home medals. And UNS ranked 13 from all 33rd Pimnas winners in 2020,” Prof. Kuncoro explained, Sunday (29/11/2020).
The gold medal for the poster category was won by PKM-PE Team led by Marcus Saputra, for their study titled ‘Lithium-Ion Battery Thermal Management System based on Fin with Roulette Wheel Structure Integrated with Liquid Cooling for High-Performance Electric Car’. The team was supervised by Agus Supriyanto. Two teams obtained the silver medal for the poster category. First, PKM-K team led by Amalia Firdaus Yanti with the title ‘Producing Organic Weight-Enhancing Feed for Kampong Chicken and Eliminating Manure Odor to Support the Availability of Quality and Cheap Feed’. The team was supervised by Wiwit Rahayu. And the second silver medal was obtained by PKM-PE team led by Muhammad Shalahuddin A titled ‘The Development of SiO2/C Composite based on Geothermal Sludge as A High-Performance Lithium-Ion Battery Anode MAterial’ that was supervised by Hendri Widiyandari.
The bronze medals for the poster category were obtained by PKM-KC team led by Mohammad Raihan Hafiz with the title of ‘Detector of Urine Glucose Level as Early Detector of Diabetes integrated to Smartphone via IoT’ under the supervision of Feri Adriyanto. And PKM-PE team led by Irma Khikmawati titled ‘Potential Analysis of Beef Jelly Gekatin as an Anti-hypertensive Agent’ under the supervision of Muhammad Cahyadi.
The favorite medal was won by the PKM-M team led by Diah Nova Anggraini with the title ‘Improving Elderly Psychological Wellbeing in Griya PMI Peduli Surakarta with Envelope Origami Method and Laughter Yoga’. This team was supervised by Fadjri Kirana Anggarani.
The leader of the PKM-PE team, Marcus Saputra, stated that this is the result of excellent teamwork. “We work with a great team, provide all of our abilities to compete in Pimnas, and provide that UNS can do this. For us, the medal was a bonus; the process to that achievement is the lesson that we can’t buy anywhere else,” the student of Physics Program FMIPA UNS stated. Humas UNS
