UNS — The Vocational School (SV) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta signed a Partnership Agreement (PKS) with PT. Bukit Makmur Mandiri Utama (BUMA) and PT. Baja Kurnia, in the SV UNS Hall Tirtomoyo Campus, Thursday (30/9/2021). The ceremony was attended by the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Sajidan, Dean of SV UNS, Drs. Santoso Tri Hananto, General Manager of Sustainability PT. BUMA, Kristiyanto Widiyawan, and Director of PT. Baja Kurnia, Fadli Razzak.
In this PKS the university and two companies agreed on a partnership in development, research, training, and human resources development programs. PT. Buma and PT. Baja Kurnia is also committed to improve and develop training and education for vocational programs. SV UNS and PT. BUMA will conduct unlimited research on the production and development of spare-part, waste management, and renewable energy to meet SV UNS needs. In implementing the research, SV UNS and PT. BUMA agreed to involve PT. Baja Kurnia is a third party in the production process of the agreed outcomes.
Prof. Sajidan positively welcomed the collaboration between SV UNS, PT. BUMA, and PT. Baja Kurnia in his opening remark. He stated that this tripartite collaboration bridges UNS as an educational institution with the Business and Industrial World (DUDI).
“Representing the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, I thank PT. BUMA and PT. Baja Kurnia for this collaboration. This (collaboration) greatly support the Merdeka Belajar and Kampus Merdeka Program promoted by the Kemdikbudristek in Janury 2020,” Prof. Sajidan stated. Prof. Sajidan also appreciated PT. BUMA for trusting UNS as their partner because the company has signed three PKS with UNS so far, including a partnership with Undergraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering Education (FKIP) in February 2020.
“Hopefully, this collaboration could improve students’ skills and support MBKM to create a link and match,” Prof. Sajidan stated.
In the signing ceremony, General Manager of Sustainability PT. BUMA, Widiyanto Kristiyawan, also appreciated UNS for acting as a good partner. He hoped that PT. BUMA and PT. Baja Kurnia could become a place for UNS students to practice their skills as an addition to their theoretical knowledge.
