UNS – Unique snack from Kebumen, lanthing, is known as a snack with a salty and savory taste. However, what if the snack is innovated with the contemporary tastes that popular among the millennials?
This is what the student from the diploma program of Agribusiness with the focus in Agropharmaca of Vocational School (SV) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Ninda Hisya Fudhriati trying to do. When asked why she chose lanthing, she answered that by creating lanthing with beef roasted beef, extra spicy, and roasted chicken, she wants to promote the unique snack from Kebumen to the public so that more people will know it.
“The name of my product is KRIG which is processed food from cassava. The food is a crunchy snack from Kebumen so that it is also an effort to introduce Kebumen’s unique snack that in general is not known by people/branding unique food,” stated Ninda, Friday (24/1/2020).
The name ‘KRIG’ chosen by Ninda is not a random product name. Ninda chose the name as a way to always remember her family at home.
“KRIG is an abbreviation so that I will always remember my family at home. KRIG is an abbreviation from Keluarga Rumah Indah untuk pulanG (Family is a beautiful house to go home),” explained Ninda.
To uns.ac.id, Ninda stated that lanthing KRIG, her creation, get support from Student Entrepreneur Program (Program Wirausaha Mahasiswa – PMW) UNS 2019. Because of PMW, Ninda admitted that she can generate profit from lanthing business around Rp 500.000 each month. In running her lanthing KRIG business, Ninda uses social media such as WhatsApp and Instagram to market her product and to communicate with her customers.
For the student who was born in Purworejo, 24 August 1999, being an entrepreneur is a profitable way to become a hard worker and independent person in the future.
“Entrepreneur is a profitable choice for me now and in the future. Becoming independent, hard worker, and at least not to fully depend on other people,” she said.
Ninda also stated that the PMW program in UNS is quite helpful in the development of her lanthing KRIG. She also expected that through this business she can widen her market share so that she can generate higher profit and promote her birthplace specialty.
“I want to develop my business and also introduce the specialty from my district. For me, the PMW program is quite helpful and of course, I want to widen my market share which shows that my product is increasingly known to many people and to add my income field of course,” she concluded.
