UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta hosted the Final and Awarding Day for the Hult Prize OnCampus Program. This event marked the culmination of innovation and entrepreneurship initiated by the Directorate of Innovation and Commercialization at UNS. Teams from various faculties showcased innovative solutions to address contemporary challenges.
Participating teams included the Life Guard Team, the Eco Water Innovator Team, the Avobar Team, the Scitech Team, the Narajiwa Team, The Leading Horse Team, and the Woodidea Team. The theme “Unlimited” was interpreted in relation to all challenges associated with sustainable development goals. Each team aimed to address these challenges with their innovative solutions.
The event kicked off with an intense pitching session. Each team passionately presented their projects to the panelists. The distinguished jury consisted of industry experts, academics, and entrepreneurs. These pitches demonstrated the creativity and dedication of the participants, who had spent months refining their ideas and strategies.
A series of engaging workshops and panel discussions were also held to broaden the participants’ insights. Workshops provided an opportunity for the jury to provide valuable feedback to further develop the projects. These sessions fostered collaboration and knowledge sharing among students, faculty members, and industry professionals, enabling the academic community to support UNS’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
As the highly anticipated award ceremony approached, the winners were announced amidst cheers and applause. The top team was Narajiwa, emerging as the competition winner. The Life Guard Team secured the first runner-up position, followed by the Eco Water Innovator Team as the second runner-up. All teams were recognized for their ingenuity, impact, and potential to drive positive change.
Mustapha Abdulwahab, the Director of Hult Prize Campus, commended the participants for their dedication and innovative spirit. Mustapha emphasized the importance of initiatives like the Hult Prize in empowering the next generation of change-makers, as they significantly contribute to addressing global challenges.
“I commend the winning teams as they prepare to represent UNS and Indonesia. In the next stage, they will compete again in Bangkok, Thailand,” Mustapha said during the event held on Saturday (3/2/2024).
The awarding of the Hult Prize OnCampus Program brought forth a wealth of inspiration. Participants had the opportunity to gain knowledge, connections, and new goals to continue their entrepreneurial journey. They have proven capable of making a meaningful difference in the world. Mustapha hopes that the legacy of the Hult Prize OnCampus Program will continue to shine brightly in the academic environment, particularly at UNS.
