UNS – A student of Electrical Engineering Department of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Ratih Rachmatika, managed to receive 175 million rupiah investor funding through Startup Thinkubator Competition. In this competition, Rachmatika was presenting her startup application about Drinking Water Alert / Siaga Air Bersih (SIAB).
To the reporter, she said that it was not easy to qualify at the sixth top in the Startup Thinkubator Competition. She had to compete with 1.169 teams who sent their startup applications to the committee. It has shortlisted 150 startup candidates from 1.169 teams then online-selected 6 starters. “Alhamdulillah, thank God. Finally, I manage to be in the top 6,” she added.
The best six finalists performed their applications in front of the judges on Friday (03/29/2019).
In a Live Pitch stage, the finalists must convince the judges to invest with a total prize IDR 3 billion. The judges were Chairul Tanjung, Chairman and Founder of CT Corp; William Tanuwijaya, Founder & CEO of Tokopedia; and Frederica Widyasari Dewi, President Director of PT. KSEI.
CEO of SIAB, Rachmatika told that she wanted to solve the problem of drought, high costs of water supply, and other water problems.
“We have three main services; the first one is SIAB monitoring. It monitors the ph, temperature, and height of water. The second is recycling water directly. SIAB will automatically filter a liter of water per minute. It fits the standard of Ministry of Health,” she explained.
According to her, SIAB had two real-time notifications service and directly accessible by the operator. “We have two models of business, namely the installation for the users and the dues from village people. We not only concern about business but also the solution of water problems in Indonesia,” said Rachmatika.
As she stated that they would keep developing this installation. “In the end, the funds that I got from this competition will be used for the development,” she concluded. Humas UNS/Try
