The Department of Indonesian Literature Faculty of Cultural Science Universitas Sebelas Maret(UNS) is holding the International Bahasa Indonesia Competition for the college students as the commemoration of Heroes Day and Youth Pledge. The registration and document submission are opened from 20th October to 10th November 2016. The competition which is conducted under the theme “Empowering the Nationalism through the Roles of Indonesian Language and Literature among the Competitive Global Society” has four categories namely essay, review, poetry declamation and Indonesian language speech contest.
The contestants should meet the requirements to be enrolled in Indonesian Language Competition, they are Diploma or Bachelor students both domestic and international by showing their students’ identity. Each contestant is allowed to enroll only in one category and required to pay Rp.100.000,00 as the registration fee. The fee is not refundable with any reasons.
The selected 30 contestants from each category will be invited in Grand Final of Indonesian Language competition at UNS Library on Saturday, (19/11/2016). The finalists will compete in the final round to win the first place of the competition. The prizes for the winners in each category will get Rp.4.000.000,00 for the first winner, Rp. 3.000.000,00 for the second winner, and Rp 2.000.000,00 for the third winner along with the trophies and certificates.
The contestants of the competition will be assessed by the competent juries in their fields, such as academicians, practitioners, experts in Indonesian language and literature, Indonesian literature wordsmiths, and journalists. They are Bre Redhana (Kompas) and Bandung Mawardi (National Mass Media Writer) as the juries for review category; Prof. Suminto A. Sayuti (Professor of UNY Yogyakarta) as the jury for poetry declamation category; Indra Tranggono (Culturalist and Wordsmith) as the jury for essay category; Dr. Ganjar Harimansyah, M. Hum (Jakarta Language Institute) as the jury for Indonesian Language speech contest category, and so forth.
