UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held UNS Tourism Expo organized by Vocational Student Tourism Business Forum from Faculty of Cultural Science UNS. The event carried the theme “Gempita Pariwisata Solo” (The Joy of Tourism in Solo) was held at Atrium Solo Grand Mall, Monday-Tuesday (23-24 / 10).
UNS Tourism Expo was expected to create the same success with MURI record of making pottery with the most participants from previous year organized by the same committee. UNS Tourism Expo aimed to introduce tourism villages in Soloraya. The exhibition itself presented 19 tourism villages in Soloraya. The targeted visitors were foreign and domestic tourists, invited government officials, businessmen, students, and various stakeholders. Besides various stands to visit, there was also a main stage that featured music performances from bands, traditional singer from special needs school, presentations from travel agencies, and much more.
Head of study program of Tourism Business, Umi Yuliati, said, “This is the project of Tourism Business students as part of implementing what they studied and it is all summarized in the first UNS Tourism Expo. We hope it will be annual event for Tourism Business program study that contribute to improve tourism in Indonesia.”
In addition, Vice Dean for Alumni and Student Affairs FIB UNS, Supardjo, stated, “UNS Tourism Expo will not only cooperate with tourism villages but also make business partners in all regencies of Surakarta former residency region.
