UNS – Fatkhul Laelah, a student of Indonesian Literature Program, Faculty of Cultural and Science (FIB), Universitas Sebelas Maret, successfully achieved the third winner of national essay competition in the event of Semarak Festival Ilmiah (SAFIK) or Lively Scientific Festival held by Saseru Study Club (SSC) of FIB UNS on Saturday (10/12/2019). The champion is achieved through the idea of his essay which is “Pro Coming (Produk Complong si Ngapak): an Effort to Develop Creative Economy Based on Local Wisdom through Android in order to Support Sustainable Development” that competed with other nine finalists from various universities in Indonesia in the final round.
Fatkhul explained that Complong is a typical product from Kebumen district which is in the shape of half-finished woven made of screwpine leaves. Today, Kebumen district has already had three central areas that are officially inaugurated as Woven Village. However, people’s interest in this product is still low, especially for the young generation.
“That is why I am interested to increase my district’s local wisdom by helping the marketing through this app of ‘Pro Coming’. This app is modest just like general apps, but it is special for marketing the complong,” explained by this student from 2018 generation.
Moreover, Fatkhul also offered an innovation on the look of Kebumen’s complong. Where in other places complong is shaped into bag, she tried to put the characteristic of Kebumen district into the complong by giving it decoration or picture.
“The example is the picture or inscription of slapstick of Ngapak (Kebumen accent). Then, there is a picture of wonderful tourism destination in Kebumen, especially the beach,” she added.
In the process of making this idea, Fatkhul conducted interview with some people in Grengseng village, Karanganyar, Kebumen. Then, she developed and realized this idea within four steps, which are preparation, socialization, implementation, and evaluation.
In the preparation, she proposed the idea officially and established partner with the government of Kebumen district. Next, she socialized directly or through media social with the target audiences are citizen and tourists. Then, she implemented by giving a training for the human resource who are willingly to join.
“The evaluation is conducted in each step. Even if I designed the idea only by myself, then I will collaborate with my friends who are competent in this scope,” Fatkhul mentioned. HUMAS UNS/Kaffa/Imron
