UNS – The Board of Commissioners (DK) chairman of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Wimboh Santoso, was appointed as a Professor of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. He holds the position since June 1, accordance with the Research, Technology, and Higher Education Ministerial Decree (Kepmenristekdikti) No. 24566/M/KP/2019.
In this Kepmenristekdikti, the appointment of Wimboh Santoso as a Professor had passed the recommendation of the Chairperson of Evaluation team for Credit Number of Functional Position on May 31. The appointment based on various considerations. One of them because Wimboh, the non-permanent lecturer whose name mentioned on the decree, qualifies as a Professor.
Regarding this topic, UNS Rector, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho responded with pleasure. “In this decree, Mr. Wimboh Santoso was appointed as the Professor of Risk Management Study. It is great and joyful news for UNS,” expressed Prof. Jamal, Wednesday (07/17/2019).
Prof. Jamal said that the inauguration was planned to be held in August. “As planned, the inauguration will be held in August. For the exact date, we wait for the confirmation from the University Senate,” he added.
For information, Wimboh Santoso was born in Boyolali on March 15, 1957. He is an Indonesian economist who served as the head of Bank Indonesia (BI) representative of New York in 2012. This position was obtained after he served as the Director of BI Directorate of Banking Regulation for the period 2010-2012.
Since the end of 2015, Wimboh was elected through an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) Bank Mandiri, to fill the position as the bank’s Chief Commissioner. In the mid of 2017, Wimboh Santoso was elected as the Chairman of DK OJK period 2017-2022. Humas UNS/Try
