UNS– The academic member of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta won an award from the 22nd Asosiasi Dosen Indonesia (ADI) Award. The award is granted along with the commemoration of ADI’s 22nd anniversary held in the Edu-tech Expo series in Jakarta Convention Center 6-10 February 2020. Eksa Rusdiyana, S.P., M.Sc, a faculty member of Agricultural Counseling and Communication program Faculty of Agriculture (FP) UNS won an ADI Award 2020 for the category of the teacher with community engagement in the outermost and disadvantaged areas.

Besides this category, there are several other categories, such as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ali Berawi, M.Eng.Sc from Universitas Indonesia (UI) who won the highest score in SINTA for international journal publication category and for supervising the highest number of students with national/international achievements. Dr.Novisrayani Kesmayanti, M.Si from Universitas IBA Palembang as an active grant recipient, Dr. Gerald Arief from Universitas Bina Nusantara for Teaching Innovation category, Prof. Ir. Muhammad Sarjan, M.Agr.CP, Ph.D. from Universitas Mataram for Research Innovation category, Drs.Syaiful Halim, M.Si from Universitas Esa Unggul for the teacher with the highest number of patents, Dr. Sudaryono, M.Pd from Universitas Raharja the most active book writer, and Dr. Muhammad Isa Indrawan, MM from Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi Sumatera Utara for the category of Anti-Narcotics Teacher in Higher Education.

The vice-chairman of ADI, Prof. Dr. Silviana Murni stated that this annual award is a form of appreciation from ADI for teachers who contribute and have bright achievements.

Separately, Eksa Rusdiyana, M.Sc who currently serves as the coordinator of partnership-based community service retold the story of community engagement initiated through the KKN activity.

“The KKN holds in Sanatab village, Sajingan Besar Subdistrict, Sambas District, Kalimantan Barat from 2018. This area is only 10 kilometers away from Indonesia-Malaysia border,” Eksa told about the activity.

Together with the advancement in border development, people in the state border still need empowerment to optimize their agricultural and tourism potential. Currently, UNS has sent KKN students for these areas for three years consecutively. Lastly, Eksa expresses his gratitude to the KKN unit of UNS and KKN UNS Team Borneo who are still serving in Sambas to the present day. Humas UNS/Ratri
