UNS – The Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT. Bukit Makmur Mandiri Utama (BUMA) in Ruang Sidang 1, Dr. Prakosa Rectory Building, Friday (14/2/2020) morning.
During the occasion, UNS is represented by the Vice Rector of Planning and Partnership Prof. Sajidan, the Director of Postgraduate Program Prof. Sutarno, the Dean of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Dr. Mardiyana, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) Dr. techn. Ir. Sholihin As’ad, and the Director of Vocational School (SV) Santoso Tri Hananto, M. Acc., Ak. Meanwhile, PT. BUMA is represented by the GM of Education and Partnership, Kristianto Widiyawan.
In front of the University Head and Directors of PT. BUMA, Prof. Sajidan delivers his gratitude on the signatory of the partnership between UNS and PT. BUMA. He hopes that the MoU can help UNS in implementing the ‘Merdeka Belajar’ Program and ‘Kampus Merdeka’ as planned by the Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud), Nadiem Makarim, in 2020.
“Kampus Merdeka and Merdeka Belajar have been included in universities’ indicator. That we are agreed to sign the MoU after the discussion in FKIP sometime ago. Especially for the Mechanical Engineering Education and Vocational School, as well as the Postgraduate program for wastewater treatment in PT. BUMA. I hope this will be an intensive method for our students both in academic and vocational programs. Hopefully, the students of the vocational school can be given an opportunity to strengthen this MoU,” said Prof. Sajidan.
The MoU will cover the area in education, research, development, community service, development of the company’s potential, and other fields that correspond to the agreement of both parties. Further, the partnership also covers the activities in institution/corporate and education quality, in term of education, research, training, and human resource development, which aims to synergize the roles and functions of each party with the principle of mutual benefit for the improvement in development, religiosity, education, research, and human resource development.
With the MoU, Prof. Sajidan hopes that UNS and PT. BUMA can synergize and bring benefits to both parties. Moreover, Prof. Sajidan also entrusts the collaboration between the Postgraduate study of UNS with PT. BUMA in overcoming the environmental problems to the Doctoral Program in Environmental Science.
