University Hospital of Universitas Sebelas Maret (RSP UNS) Surakarta is planned to be inaugurated on Wednesday, August 10th, 2016. After giving a press conference regarding to SBMPTN (Joint Entrance Exam) 2016, Rector of UNS Ravik Karsidi said that RI 1 The President Joko Widodo is planned to inaugurate the hospital that spends for about six hundreds billion.

Ravik stated that The President Jokowi will attend a national event in regard with National Technology Day 2016 which will be on August 10 and will be held in Surakarta. “Asking The President to come to the event is a struggle, so we take the advantage by his attendance in the National Technology Day Celebration in Solo. We hope our plan does not change,” he hoped.

RSP UNS which is built on 6 hectares land has 7 floors. This hospital needs 3 years to be done. After officially opened, the hospital will provide 200 rooms and the room numbers will be increased up to 400 rooms. Ravik also stated that the hospital will also be used for medical students’ practicum. So, the practicum of medical students will be moved to this hospital from the previous cooperated hospital such as Dr. Moewardi Hospital. However, it will not stop the cooperation between UNS and the cooperated hospitals because specialist medical students will still have their practicum in the cooperated hospitals.[] (anggra.red.uns.ac.id)
