UNS – AISEC of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta gathered 48 foreign students from 11 nations to enliven 2019 AIESEC Global Village Summer.
In this event, hundreds of spectators had filled Argobudoyo since Saturday (07/27/2019) afternoon. Ranging from children, high school students, college students, until parents were enthusiastic and curious about the performances that would be presented by AISEC in this year.
As well as Angel Kesturi, this SMAN 3 Surakarta student was specifically spent her time to come with her school mates enjoying the live performance of 48 foreign students presented in this event.
Besides presenting in the form of art performances from various countries, AISEC of UNS also had an expectation that in 2019 AIESEC Global Village Summer, they could provide understanding, education, and insight into the meaning of tolerance towards various cultures presented from various countries in the world.
“We’re now living in an era in which people can easily guess something. By coming here, they (we) will no longer guess and they (we) will find out the feeling of having a conversation with people from different nationality, cultures, backgrounds, and physical appearances,” explained Kevin, a Member Committee VP External Relation of AIESEC Indonesia who also attended this event.
Not only Kevin but Fahda, the Local President AIESEC in UNS, also hopes that Global Village would be an event which educates people about rising awareness towards programs of UNS AISEC.
On the sidelines of this event, UNS AISEC also gave an opportunity for hundreds of spectators in attendance to taste some authentic foods from other countries that served directly by the foreign students. The cuisines were from Egypt, Vietnam, Canada, China, Poland, India, Morocco, Spain, and the Republic of Czech.
In the end, AISEC of UNS closed the 2019 Global Village Summer with lanterns flight. The lanterns that were flown contained hopes for the city, country, and especially for the world. Humas UNS/ Yefta/Try
