UNS Held Regular Online Religious Teaching During Ramadan

UNS – Entering the holy month of Ramadan 1441 H, the Takmir of Nurul Huda Mosque Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a regular ‘Tarawih Keliling (Tarling)’ Religious Teaching using online systems. This activity started on Monday (20/4/2020) at 20.00 WIB. On this occasion, attendees are the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, the Vice-Rector, and Senate Members, and the Leaders of UNS Faculties.

The topic discussed on this Tarling Session is the wisdom of Ramadan Fasting in Exercising Self-Control, with Prof. Joko Nurkamto as the speaker. There are three important points delivered during the discussion. Prof. Joko explains the role of Ramadan to control oneself. Moreover, fasting also acts as self-galvanizing activities to avoid bad behavior. He also explains that the type of fasting, which in essence is related to being a better servant.

The Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho said that this agenda, which attended by approximately 57 participants will be held regularly twice a week on Monday and Thursday nights.

“This was designed as a substitute for our tradition, which usually regularly held twice a week. On Monday and Thursday night we will hold a discussion on the Islamic development in order to highlight the agenda of the month of Ramadan,” Prof. Jamal explains, Monday (27/4/2020).

Moreover, similar teaching will also regularly held on Wednesday noon at 12.30 WIB. The objective of this agenda is to strengthen the silaturahim among UNS academic members during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this extraordinary situation, UNS attempts to deliver positive activity. It is expected that our faith will be increased through regular teaching.

Meanwhile, the Tarling Team, Dr. Deny Tri Ardianto, added that there is a schedule for the speaker and their material for the online Tarling teaching. “The schedule of speakers and their material will be delivered immediately as planned activities during the month of Ramadan,” said Dr. Deny.
