UNS – The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho monitors directly the implementation of Computer-Based Writing Exams (UTBK) in UNS, Sunday (5/7/2020). On the first day of UTBK, the Rector of UNS together with a group consisting of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, Executive Secretary for UNS New Student Admission Selection (SPMB), Prof. Hadi Wiyono, visited UTBK test site in FMIPA Building, TIK, and FK UNS.
Prof. Jamal mentioned that UTBK in UNS is conducted in 14 locations, which consists of 44 rooms with a total capacity of 620 participants per session or 1,240 participants in a day. The total participants registered in UNS UTBK Center are 23,425 participants from 30 provinces. From the total participants, 71% are from the ex Surakarta Residency region, and the rest 29% from other regions.
On the 1st stage of UTBK on 5-14 July 2020, there are 12,395 participants. “On the first day, the total attendances in the first session are 478 participants (77.1%), with 142 registered participants who do not attend the test. All of them, who do not attend the test are from outside of Surakarta,” explains Prof. Jamal during press release of UNS UTBK in UNS Inn, Sunday (5/7/2020).
In UNS UTBK 2020, there are three persons with special needs who are blind, two of them are scheduled to take the test on Tuesday (7/7/2020), while the other one will take the test on (14/7/2020). The participants with special needs will be facilitated with special software, and the implementation will be assisted by staff.
Meanwhile, for the 2nd Stage of UTBK, scheduled on 20-29 July 2020 there are 11,030 registered participants. “Participants from outside of the Surakarta region can attend the test in their origin region during the 2nd stage of UTBK on 20-29 July 2020. They only need to wait for further information from the Institute for Higher Education Entrance Test (LTMPT). The UTBK in each regional location is coordinated by the LTMPT, Ministry of Education and Culture,” adds Prof. Jamal.
There will be 38 UTBK sessions in UNS, which consist of 20 sessions in the 1st stage and 18 sessions in the 2nd stage. The implementation of the UTBK in the UNS Campus prioritizes the health and safety of all parties involved by enforcing health protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19. UTBK UNS Center has conducted a training on the enforcement of Covid-19 deployment prevention protocol for all faculty leaders, Organizing Committees, Person in Charge for Location, Examiners, Technician Team, Security Team, and Janitors.
UNS UTBK Center provides health facilities for COVID-19 prevention. During the test, all organizing committee is equipped with Personal protective equipment (PPE). “The participants are given free gloves. All test location is equipped with thermo-gun, hand sanitizer, sink, and participant transit room, which arranged according to health protocol. The UTBK Room arranged in such a way as to maintain distance between participants. This aims to avoid new COVID-19 Cluster,” he reveals.
Prof. Jamal adds that all participants facing a force majeure and are unable to attend the 1st and 2nd stage of UTBK should report to UNS UTBK Center by including evidence. After the report is verified, they will be able to take part in the Reserved UTBK on 30 July – 2 August 2020. Humas UNS
