UNS – The Doctorate Program in Economics (PDIE) Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta in collaboration with the Center for Science and Technology Excellence (Pusat Unggulan Iptek – PUI) Center for Fintech and Banking UNS held a Shark Tank Workshop “Meet and Discuss with Journals’ Editors”, Saturday (18/7/2020).
The workshop invited five reputable international journal editors (Scopus indexed), Prof. Siong Hook Law (Editor in Chief, International Journal of Economics and Management), Prof. Hooy Chee Wooi (Editor in Chief, Asian Academy of Management Journal of Accounting and Finance), Dr. Evan Lau (Managing Editor, International Journal of Busines and Society), Dr. Abu Hanifah Ayob (Associate Editor Jurnal Pengurusan) and Irwan Trinugroho, Ph.D. from UNS, as the Managing Editor and Associate Editor in several Scopus indexed journals.
The workshop was opened by the Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs FEB UNS, Dr. Izza Mafruhah and the Head of Doctorate Program in Economics (FEB) UNS, Prof. Rahmawati. Dr. Izza stated that the workshop was attended by doctorate students and several FEB UNS Faculty Members
“Doctorate program students are required to publish an article in a reputable international journal to disseminate their doctorate research. Publication in a reputable international journal is external assessment mechanism, to what extent is the doctorate research contributes to the body of knowledge,” Dr. Izza explained.
The Head of Doctorate Program in Economics (PDIE) Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNS, Prof. Rahmawati added that the objectives of the event are to provide knowledge and comprehension for PDIE FEB UNS students on the publication process in reputable international journal and how to write a research paper for publication.
“Students who have working paper can present their paper. After the presentation, their paper will be reviewed by the editor and they will receive input from the editors before submitting the paper to the reputable international journal,” she concluded. Humas UNS
