UNS — Another great news arrived from the Urban and Regional Planning Study Program (PWK), Faculty of Engineering (FT), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, that just earned an “A” Accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
From an official release received by uns.ac.id from the Institute for the Development and Quality Assurance of Education (LPPMP) UNS on Saturday (8/8/2020) regarding the result of the accreditation process for the PWK FT UNS, the total score achieved is 368, based on a BAN-PT Decree No. 4394/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/VIII/2020, which will be valid for 5 years, starting from 4 August 2020 to 4 August 2025.
Responding to this result, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho appreciates the efforts taken by the Head of Study Program, Lecturers, and Quality Assurance Unit in FT UNS that have to provide excellent assistance during the accreditation process. He also emphasized that the quality of accreditation for all study programs at every level, from vocational to doctoral levels at UNS, must be prioritized.
“In order to strengthen the quality assurance and sustainability of study programs at Vocational Schools, undergraduate, master, and doctoral degrees at UNS, accreditation is a top priority that must be followed up comprehensively,” Prof. Jamal states.
During the Field Assessment (AL) held on 27-28 July 2020, there were two BAN-PT assessors Heru Purboyo Hidayat Putro from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Deva Haroldfasterdas Swasto from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta. The assessors together with the accreditation team of the PWK FT UNS Study Program, Quality Assurance Unit in FT UNS, accompanied by the Field Coordinator of the External Quality Assurance System (SPME) LPPMP UNS reported and proved that all of the Higher education Tri Dharma input, process, and outcome are in accordance with the BAN-PT Instruments on in Forms 3A and 3B.
“This became one of the pride and efforts in enhancing the quality assurance in the Undergraduate program of PWK FT UNS to achieve a higher rank from ‘B’ to ‘A’,” says the Field Coordinator of National Accreditation SPME LPPMP UNS, Muhammad Rohmadi.
He further explains that there some efforts in the Quality Assurance System Development (PPSMM) LPPMP UNS and Faculty/Postgraduate School/Vocational School/UPT/Institution Quality Assurance Unit in UNS must be carried out periodically. This can be conducted by hosting workshops in SPMI implementation and monitoring and evaluation (Monev) to support the sustainability of the UNS accreditation system.
“This because a comprehensive and sustainable SPMI and Monev implementation become one of the efforts to enhance the quality assurance in UNS gradually. The target to increase accreditation rank from B to A, and from A to an international accreditation is continuously carried out by the PPSMM LPPMP UNS,” Muhammad Rohmadi added.
He also reveals that as the Field Coordination in SPME for National Accreditation in LPPMP UNS, his party is required to stay ready to implement the improvement and strengthen quality assurance, both at the national and international levels and assisting the education quality in each Study Program in UNS sustainably.
