UNS —The Center for Fintech and Banking, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS Fintech Center), is hosting a Digital Innovation Competition 2020. The UNS Fintech Center is one of the Center for Excellences that receive the predicate of Higher Education Science and Technology (PUIPT) Center of Excellence, by the Institutional Directorate, Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) the Republic of Indonesia. This Digital Innovation Competition is taking on the theme of “Dare to Create Impactful Digital Product” with a total prize of 15 million Rupiah.
The Chairman of the UNS Fintech Center, Irwan Trinugroho, Ph.D., states that proposal submission for this competition is open from August 31st, 2020 to October 17th, 2020. The examiners consist of digital entrepreneurs, academics members, and venture capital firms. The grand final presentation stage is scheduled on November 5th, 2020, and followed by an awarding event for the winner on November 7th, 2020.
“The winner of this competition will receive assistance and training from the PUIPT Center for Fintech and Banking UNS and Venture Capital Firm as the partner of the PUIPT. We hope that this innovation can be realized into a digital product,” Dr. Irwan explains on Monday (7/9/2020).
Moreover, the Center for Fintech and Banking UNS, also conducted various community service activity in the form of Digital Finance and Technopreneurship training, on July 26th, 2020, at Wonorejo, Bejen, Karanganyar. The training participants are teenagers who are members of the youth organization in the village. The event combines both online and offline workshops, while keep adhering to the health protocol. The material covered in the training is related to the financial planning for millennials, introduction to digital finance, and introduction to digital entrepreneurs.
Irwan adds that the training is important for the youngster, especially to introduce various opportunities to be entrepreneurs by using the existing technology. Moreover, training material on financial planning provides understanding to the younger generation in getting to know financial instruments and always making and preparing financial planning from an early age. “Those activities are in line with PUIPT Center for Fintech and Banking UNS. We are not only focused on research and policy review but also conducting community services such as education, training, and assistance; thus, in the end, the existence of PUIPT will bring a greater benefit to the wider community,” Irwan concluded.
