UNS – Bank Jateng Cycling Event in Free Emission Day and Draw UKT Payment Doorprize

UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta and Bank Pembangunan Daerah (BPD) Jawa Tengah (Jateng) held ‘Gowes Sehat Bebas Emisi’ (Cycling Event in Free Emission Day), Friday (2/10/2020) morning. In this occasion, a draw for a doorprize for UNS students who pay their tuition fee through Bank Jateng.

‘Gowes Sehat Bebas Emisi’ was led by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho accompanied by the President Director of Bank Jateng, Supriyatno. Besides that, several important guests also attended the ‘Gowes Sehat Bebas Emisi’, including Surakarta Police Chief Kombes (Pol) Ade Safri Simanjuntak, the Chief of BPPKAD Surakarta, Yosca Herman Soedrajat and the Chief of State Prosecutor’s Office (Kajari) Surakarta, Nanang Gumaryanto.

Taking the starting point from the lobby of Rectorate Building dr. Prakosa, the ‘Gowes Sehat Bebas Emisi’ entourage took a route from Faculty of Agriculture (FP), Faculty of Medical Science (FK), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Faculty of Engineering (FT), to the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).

After around an hour of cycling around UNS Campus Kentingan, the entourage of ‘Gowes Sehat Bebas Emisi’ continued the event with cordiality and to draw lucky UNS students who paid tuition fee through Bank Jateng. In his remark, Prof. Jamal welcomed the visit from President Commissioner and Independent Commissioner Bank Jateng who participated in the current cycling event. This, according to Prof. Jamal, is proof of closeness and warm relationship between UNS and Bank Jateng.

“This event was planned and formulated from a long time ago. When we got acquainted, Pak Dirut (the President Director) challenged me for a bicycle race,” Prof. Jamal stated while joking.

Besides providing doorprize for UNS students who are paying their tuition fee, Bank Jateng has proven its seriousness to build a partnership with UNS by providing grants in the form of two units of videotron for multimedia needs in G.P.H Haryo Mataram Auditorium. In a separate interview, the President Director of Bank Jateng, Supriyatno, stated that his part will always assist UNS in various events. He explained that this is proof of Bank Jateng seriousness in accommodating the need for tuition payment for UNS students, who mostly live in Jateng. He stated that Bank Jateng will also expand its collaboration with UNS to various fields. This will answer the demand for Higher Education Tri Dharma implementation which includes education, research, and community services.

“Bank Jateng and UNS will come forward to serve the nation and Jawa Tengah (Central Java) in particular. The cooperation that has been fostered so far is quite good. In the future, we will continue the partnership, but not limited to the existing activities. There will be other collaborations, for example how to prioritize research interests and facilitate UNS students to further improve their competitiveness,” Supriyatno stated. Humas UNS
