UNS — Imam Bustomi, who currently serves as the Assistant Deputy for Technology and Information at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises is selected as the Chairman of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA) alumni association (Ketua Alumni Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam – KAFMIPA) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta for the period of 2020-2024. The KAFMIPA Chairman’s election was held during the online FMIPA UNS Alumni Deliberation to select the Chairman of KAFMIPA UNS from 2020 to 2024 on 28 September 2020. Besides the deliberation to choose a chairman, there was also a talk show on: “The Role of FMIPA UNS Alumni to be Productive in the New Normal Era”.
The event was opened with a prayer and followed by a remark from Catur Wedo Susilo, S.Si. (KAFMIPA UNS Chairman 2015-2019) and Drs. Harjana, M.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Dean of FMIPA UNS), the election of KAFMIPA Chairman, a remark from the new KAFMIPA Chairman, and talk show.
In his remark, the Dean of FMIPA, Drs. Harjana, M.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. hopes that FMIPA alumni can contribute as additional alumni participation score in supporting the accreditation process, academic and non-academic activities, network development, participation in scientific events, and shape the campus into an internationally reputable university. “We also hope for the role of alumni in supporting kampus merdeka belajar activities,” Harjana stated.
Harjana also conveyed his thanks to Catur Wedo Susilo, S.Si. as Chairman of KAFMIPA UNS 2015-2019 for his dedication in developing KAFMIPA UNS and FMIPA UNS Alumni Foundation. He also concluded his remark with a hope that Catur Wedo Susilo, S.Si. will continue contributing and helps KAFMIPA in the future.
Aside from the Dean of FMIPA, the event was also attended by the executive board, Head of Programs, Chairman of program’s alumni association, KAFMIPA 2015-2019 management, Alumni Foundation management, representatives from students, and representatives of FMIPA UNS alumni. In the deliberation, the Assistant Deputy for Technology and Information at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, Imam Bustomi, S.Si., M.M. was selected as the Chairman of KAFMIPA UNS 2020-2024 and the Chairman of the Formator.
As the new Chairman, Imam Bustomi was asked to deliver a remark. In his first remark as Chairman, she stated that the alumni of FMIPA UNS must be able to think rationally and has strong logic. They also need to be productive, have proper competence, experiences, always calm to see the opportunity, and positive thinking. “We all hope that in the future, alumni who are selected as management to have an active role in supporting and advancing Faculty of MIPA,” Imam Bustomi stated.
