UNS KKN Team Distributes Washbasin With Pedal System in Kandangan Village, Blitar

UNS — As a prevention measure for the Covid-19 spread, students of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta distribute a washbasin with a pedal system in Kandangan Village. The washing basin was distributed directly in February 2021 to several locations such as mosques, schools, and Village Office.

The distribution was initiated by UNS Student Community Service Program (KKN) during January-February 2021 in Kandangan Village, Srengat Sub-District, Blitar Municipality. A total of 8 washbasins with the pedal system are distributed to the Kandangan Village Office, Nurul Huda Mosque, Darul Huda Mosque, Bahrul Ulum Mosque, Al-Muslihun Mosque, Baiturrohman Mosque, Al Huda Mosque, and Madrasah Al Mustajab.

The Head of Service in Kandangan Village Office, Subana, highly appreciates the action initiated by the KKN UNS team.

“Even though it is simple, but the preparation of washbasin with a pedal system can improve communities’ knowledge. Moreover, this activity can increase their awareness on the importance of health protocol during this pandemic,” Subana explains during the distribution of the washbasin.

In an interview with uns.ac.id, Krisdiantoro as the Team Leader, reveals that the distribution aims to fill the needs for washbasin in Kandangan Village.

“This washbasin is one of the solutions to reduce Covid-19 spread. We distribute the basin to strategic locations that become the center of community activities such as mosques, schools, and village office,” he explains on Wednesday (3/3/2021).

The student of the Fine Arts Study Program, Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD), hopes that the washbasin can reduce Covid-19 spread and enhance public awareness to always wash their hand. Humas UNS
