UNS — A student of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta crafted another achievement. This time, a student from the Transfer Program in Accounting contribute to UNS achievement at the international level. He is Rian Difa Subagio, a UNS student who was awarded as the “Most Motivated and Creative Co-Chairperson” in International Youth Empowerment Model United Nations (IYEMUN).
The competition conducted virtually is a collaboration between the Institute of Qualified Personnel, International Youth Empowerment, and the Fergana Regional Council of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan. The MUN competition is special because not only it is organized by a private institution or university, but the IYEMUN is also supported by Uzbekistan People’s Representative Council.
“This is interesting because youth organizations in the Uzbekistan government can collaborate with the International Youth Empowerment and International Qualified Personnel to support academic advancement. This aims to create information exchange between the Uzbekistan student with the international students,” explains the student from Bogor.
The event conducted on February 27-28, 2021 is more interesting for Rian because he becomes the only delegation from Indonesia, thus, representing Indonesia to compete with other countries such as Uzbekistan, Rusia, and Meksiko.
This occasion is not his first participation in a similar competition. This 22 years old student become The Best Delegate of ALSA MUN Class Diponegoro University 2018 and 2019, delegate of Online Distancing MUN 2020, delegate of Virtual MUN 2020, and delegate of Jogjakarta International MUN 2018.
With his previous experience as a MUN delegation, this time Rian does not want to be a mere participant. He, then, register as a co-chairperson, a jury who led the discussion in each council. For his excellent performance during the IYEMUN, Rian is awarded as the Most Motivated and Creative Co-chairperson”.
“I am really lucky to be the only Indonesian in this event. I can interact with other students from other countries such as Rusia and my main co-chair from Meksiko. The competition also went well and greatly inspiring for me,” he reveals. Humas UNS
