UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, review the implementation of the Face-to-Face class (PTM) trial for 2020/ 2021 students in three faculties on Wednesday morning (7/4/2021). The three faculties are the Faculty of Law (FH) UNS, Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS, and Faculty of Sports (FKOR) UNS that received a PTM trial at the beginning of April 2021.
Accompanied by the Chief of Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) Public Relation and Media UNS, Dr. Deddy Whinata Kardiyanto, Prof. Jamal visited the PTM trial in Building I FH UNS in the first session started at 08.30 Western Indonesia Time (WIB). In this opportunity, Prof. Jamal checked the implementation of Health Protocols for students and teachers before entering the classroom and during the PTM process indoor. Twenty-nine students joined the session and were separated into two classes, first with 15 students and second with 15 students. These students have received permission from their parents and were healthy based on antigen rapid test results.
“This morning, UNS tries to apply offline learning or face-to-face meeting. We decided to open (PTM trial) considering two matters, following requirements and gradual,” Prof. Jamal stated to the media crew.
This explanation supported his statement in February 2020. Following requirements mean that PTM should receive a permit from Covid-19 Task Force of Solo City, parents, and students negative from Covid-19 based on the result of antigen rapid test or swap test. Gradual is separating PTM for students, in the trial for 2020/2021 students. If Covid-19 cases slow down and the vaccination rate increases, UNS will open PTM for senior students. Prof. Jamal hopes that students and teachers will continue implementing health protocols during the process.
After visiting FH UNS, Prof. Jamal also visit FK UNS that implements a PTM trial for 41 students in Diploma Program (D4) in Midwifery and Undergraduate Program in Psychology. Accompanied by Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS, Prof. Ahmad Yunus and the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono, Prof. Jamal talked to FK UNS students about their impression of PTM in the first week and vaccination plan for students and teachers.
“I am happy to see students who miss their campus. Make sure you are healthy, and UNS cannot invite all students, which is almost 40,000 people and only invited representatives,” Prof. Jamal said.
To the students, the Rector also mentioned that UNS has proposed that all UNS executive boards and teachers are vaccinated. But due to the limit in Covid-19 vaccines, not all UNS teachers can be vaccinated now. “We are vaccinated. Several days ago, 450 (faculty members) are vaccinated. (We) prioritized those who are older than 60 years old and UNS executive boards and institutes, including Head of programs,” Prof. Jamal concluded. Humas UNS
