Optimizing Kampus Merdeka-Merdeka Belajar Program, UNS Establish Partnership With Taman Satwa Taru Jurug

UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta is expanding its partnership with several parties to optimize the implementation of Higher Education Tri Dharma and Kampus Merdeka-Merdeka Belajar Program. This time around, UNS collaborates with the Regional Public Company Taman Satwa Taru Jurug (TSTJ) Surakarta.

On Thursday (15/4/20121), the Director of TSTJ, Bimo Wahyu Widodo, D.S., S.P., M. Si., signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UNS and seven faculties in UNS, namely the Faculty of Engineering (FT), Faculty of Economics, and Business (FEB), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences(FISIP), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Faculty of Agriculture (FP), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science(FMIPA), and Vocational School (SV) UNS.

The signatory ceremony was attended by the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Sajidan, M. Si., Director of Partnership, Development, and Internationalization, Irwan Trinugroho, S.E., M.Sc., P. hD., and the Deans from the seven faculties.

the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Sajidan, M. Si., states that numerous UNS students had taken an internship program in TSTJ. However, a partnership between the two institutions has not been officially established, thus encouraging this collaboration. “I have talked many times with Mr. Bimo as the Director of TSTJ. According to him, there are many UNS students who take internship programs in Taman Satwa Taru Jurug, but the partnership document is yet to be established. Therefore, during this Kampus Merdeka-Merdeka Belajar Program, we need to reinforce the partnership. At least 80 percent of the Faculties in UNS should have a partnership and collaboration within the Kampus Merdeka-Merdeka Belajar Program,” Prof. Sajidan states.

The collaboration and partnership between the UNS and TSTJ will cover the improvement of Tri Dharma activities in Education, Research, and Community Service. Moreover, it will also provide support for the implementation of Kampus Merdeka-Merdeka Belajar.

“This MoU signatory has been planned out since 2017 because we often receive UNS students for an internship program or thesis research. We hope that this MoU can assist TSTJ in terms of research because we are actually limited in this field,” said the Director of TSTJ, Bimo Wahyu Widodo, D.S., S.P., M. Si.

Aside from the two activities, the collaboration can take place in others sectors or forms according to the agreement between the two parties. Humas UNS
