UNS Establishes Collaboration With Universiti Teknologi Malaysia

UNS — The Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta establish partnership with the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The partnership is marked with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) virtual signatory between UNS and UTM on Tuesday (20/4/2021) through Zoom Cloud Meeting. The signatory between the two parties is attended by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Sajidan, M. Si., Director of Partnership, Development, and Internationalization, Irwan Trinugroho, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., Head of LPPM UNS, Prof. Okid Parama Astirin, and Deans from FMIPA, FEB, FKIP, and FT UNS.

The partnership between UNS and UTM will cover various sectors, among others are staff and students’ development, research collaboration, program study, seminar, and other fields as agreed by both parties. The Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, expresses his delight in the signatory. He hopes that this five-year partnership can be beneficial for both parties.

“This is an outstanding opportunity to establish a formal partnership with the UTM. We hope that UTM can assist our academic members in continuing their studies at UTM. Further, UNS also wish to organize a various international conference with UTM in numerous fields of study,” Prof. Jamal explains.

The collaboration between UNS and UTM is started in 2018. Specific programs are conducted collaboratively between the two parties, such as research, journal publication, and guest lecture in different study programs in UNS. Hopefully, this partnership can increase the proportion of international activities in UNS,” he added.

Also attending the signatory was the representatives from UTM that consist of the Vice-Chancellor of UTM, Prof. Datuk. TS. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi bin Ismail and the Dean of the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying, Prof. SR. Dr. Hishamuddin bin Mohd Ali.
