UNS Virtual Convocation II Inaugurates 1,272 Graduates

UNS — The Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a Virtual Convocation II for Diploma, Bachelor, and Postgraduate Programs through the Zoom Cloud Meeting on Saturday (24/4/2021) morning. On this occasion, UNS inaugurates 1,272 graduates. This detailed as follows 222 graduates from the Postgraduate program, 39 graduates from FIB, 329 graduates from FKIP, 86 graduates from FH, 49 graduates from FEB, 85 graduates from FISIP, 35 graduates from FK, 86 graduates from FP, 91 graduates from FT, 86 graduates from FMIPA, 55 graduates from FSRD, 31 graduates from FKOR, and 72 graduates from SV UNS.

The Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, in his graduation report, reveals that in total, 606 graduates are graduated with honor (cumlaude). Among the graduates, Prof. Ahmad Yunus also mention several graduates with excellent achievement such as Dr. Abdul Kadir Jaelani from the Doctoral Program of Law Study, who graduated only after 2 years 7 months with a cumulative GPA of 3.88, and Resta Maharani Adila Putri from Psychology Study Program who become the youngest graduate.

“There is Nadila Maysila Herdarezki as the youngest graduates from the Master Program in Law Study, and Khanafiyah as the youngest graduate from the Diploma Program in Tourism Business,” Prof. Ahmad Yunus revealed.

With the inauguration of the 1,272 UNS graduates, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, as the Rector of UNS, states that inauguration must be interpreted as a sense of pride for academic achievement. He also mentions that the graduates must be thankful and proud for the support from their parents/legal guardians during their study in UNS. In particular, Prof. Jamal considers the graduates’ parents as the actual ‘Rector.’ “In this is academic degree inauguration, your parents are the actual ‘Rector’ and heroes for their children. Because of their service and struggle that you can achieve your noble achievements,” Prof. Jamal reveals.

Even though this period convocation is still conducted virtually, Prof. Jamal hopes the graduates to take it as a spirit to stepping on the next level. According to Prof. Jamal, community life is the actual ‘campus’ for UNS graduates because they must keep learning from various forms of challenges in a more complex situation.

“If you do not pursue your dreams, you will never achieve it. If you do not ask, then the answer is no. If you do not step forward, then you will stay in the same place,” concludes Prof. Jamal. Humas UNS
