05UNS — The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a Sharing Session with Mayor Lek Dr. Hendri Himawan T, S.T., M.Eng., from Yogyakarta Air Force Academy (AAU) through the Zoom Cloud Meeting platform.
The event held on Friday (30/7/2021) was a form of follow-up of the partnership between FMIPA UNS and AAU. The discussants are FMIPA students from various programs interested in aerospace technology, robotics, and electronics.
In this event, Dr. Hendri stated that wide opportunities were open to developing military technology in Indonesia, for example, Network Centric Warfare, Cloud Computing, Robotic, Cyber Security, GPS Satellite, Communication Network, and other related technologies. These opportunities open chances for students to pursue a career in the military and aerospace fields.
Dr. Hendri also stated that UNS as a leading university and AAU could collaborate to answer the aerospace and military technology development challenges in Indonesia.
“Because each of us has similar objectives on how to align and build the nation. Hopefully, UNS and AAU could build stronger collaboration,” he added.
The Major also explained that the development of Alustita (Alat Utama Sistem Senjata Tentara Nasional Indonesia) (Indonesian Army weaponry system) is not limited to warfare but also as diplomacy and supporting equipment in disaster mitigation and terrorism control.
The Dean of FMIPA UNS, Drs. Harjana, M.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed gratitude to Dr. Hendri for sharing knowledge in the discussion.
