UNS — A Professor in the Faculty of Agriculture (FP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta was inaugurated as the Chairman of Indonesian Agronomic Association (Peragi) Komda Central Java. Prof. Bambang Pujiasmanto was inaugurated on Saturday (31/7/2021) in Ruang Sidang Building B FP UNS, attended by the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS and the Head of Foreign Relations and Cooperation Peragi Komda Central Java, Prof. Ahmad Yunus. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Dean of FP UNS, Prof. Samanhudi, who also acts as the Secretary of Peragi Komda Central Java.
The inauguration was held simultaneously with the inauguration of management and Chairman of Peragi Komda West Sulawesi. The inauguration was led by the Chairman of Peragi, Prof. Andi Muhammad Syakir. In the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Bambang Pudjiasmanto was inaugurated as the Chairman of Peragi Komda Central Java for the second time, while Dr. A. Karim was inaugurated as the Chairman of Peragi Komda West Sulawesi.
In his opening remark, the Chairman of Peragi, Prof. Andi Muhammad Syakir, stated that Peragi has four key visions. To supervise and develop agronomic knowledge and profession in Indonesia, create facilities and means to improve professionality and knowledge application in developing the country and the nation, and strengthen and relationship and partnership among the members and agronomic community in Indonesia. “Lastly, to take an active role in assisting and empowering Indonesia’s agricultural society,” he explained.
In his speech, the Central Java Chapter Chairman, Prof. Bambang Pujiasmanto, explained his branch’s plans and programs to attract more members and improve member’s databases through seminars and workshops. His office also plans to hold joint community services and joint businesses to identify research findings and development to be disseminated to the community.
“We also want to design and publish information and material on agronomics by preparing periodic materials on agronomics and research findings,” he explained.
Peragi Komda Central Java will prepare an external and internal research proposal and holding an international seminar on 15 August 2021 in The 8th International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Environment (ICSAE-7).
Following the inauguration ceremony, a scientific discussion was held on the development of bio pharmacy as an immunomodulator with Prof. Sandra Arifin A., from Institut Pertanian Bogor, Prof. Yuli Widyastuti from B2P2TO2T, and Kang Edi, Ombenanku owner, as speakers. Dr. Eddy Triharyanto, FP UNS faculty member, led the discussion, which is followed by materials from Dr.Djoko Pramono and Prof. Bambang Pujiasmanto as discussants. Humas UNS
