Passed KKCTBN and KRTI, Bengawan UV Team UNS Launched Three Prototypes of Unmanned Ships and Planes

UNS — Bengawan UV Team Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta launched three prototypes of unmanned ships in front of Dr. Prakosa Building UNS on Monday (18/10/2021). The three ships will be submitted to the National Unmanned Fast Boat Contest (KKCTBN) 2021. Bengawan UV also released a plane prototype that will be contested in the Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI).

KKCTBN and KRTI are competitions held by the National Center for Achievements (Puspresnas) Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek). In KKCTBN, Bengawan UV Team passed in three categories: submarine categories (Autonomous Semi Submarine Surface Vehicle/ASSV), high seas patrol boat division (Electric Remote Control/ERC), and patrol boat division (Fuel Engine Remote Control/FERC).

The launching was also a send offs ceremony for the teams who will compete in the final round attended by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, and the Dean of FT UNS, Dr. Techn. Ir. Sholihin As’ad. Prof. Jamal highly appreciated Bengawan UV’s accomplishment for passing the final round of KKCTBN and KRTI.

“I am proud with your achievements, at least considering the track record not long ago; Bengawan Team also won competitions on several other occasions. Hopefully, this becomes an encouragement to be a champion in the final tomorrow,” Prof. Jamal stated.

In a separate interview with the uns.ac.id team, Tri Rahmaji, the General Manager of Bengawan UV, stated that before the final round, the team went through several selection processes, including proposal selection and progress report on the planning, financing, and performance test. “Then the Best 9 that will compete at the national level are announced. In the final, there will be nine electric teams, nine gasoline teams, and eight submarine teams,” Tri Rahmaji or Aji explained on Monday (18/10/2021).

Through a strict selection process, Bengawan UV was successful in moving forward and exceeding other teams from Indonesian universities to compete in the final round that will be held in Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) on 21-24 October 2021 and November 2021 for KRTI.

“Alhamdulillah, from three categories that we participated in, all passed to the final round in  Malang,” Aji added.

The preparation from the team has started at the beginning of 2021 after they received technical guidelines from the committee. They worked promptly to complete all components they hadn’t prepared.

“Hopefully, we could maintain our previous year’s achievement. Or, to be better, hopefully, the teams will be all out (in their performance),” Aji hoped. Humas UNS
