UNS – The team from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta achieved success in the Sebelas Maret Cup 2023. The event, organized by the Badminton Student Activity Unit (UKM), took place from September 26th to 29th, 2023, at the UNS Sports Hall (GOR).
The UNS team consisted of Fiery Mufti Eldison, who won a gold medal in the men’s singles category; Khusnul Khatimah and Septia Ningrum Rahmadani won a gold medal in the women’s double team category; Daniel Ekkiesia and Khusnul Khatimah won silver and bronze medals in the mixed doubles team; and then, in the men’s doubles team, Daniel Ekkiesia and Rizal Yudha Tissaputra won the bronze medal.
The closing and announcement of the Sebelas Maret Cup 2023 were held on Friday (29/9/2023) evening at UNS Sports Hall (GOR). In his closing remarks, Prof. Dr. Kuncoro Diharjo, S.T., M.T., as the Acting Vice Rector for Research and Innovation UNS, expressed gratitude to the teams and supporters from various universities and high schools who participated in the competition and added to the excitement of the Sebelas Maret Cup 2023.
“The essence of this event is to build friendship. Through competition events like this, you can get to know each other through the game. The benefit is that it allows you to develop your competencies, especially in the field of badminton,” Prof. Kuncoro explained.
Furthermore, Prof. Kuncoro explained that in competitions, both winning and losing are common occurrences. He encouraged the participants to stay enthusiastic and recommended they continue to participate in various competitions, as there’s a possibility of becoming champions.
“With sports, I believe you can stay healthy and fit without the need for medicine. So, health can be maintained by staying active in sports. Additionally, this championship will provide motivation for the winners to become better. For those who haven’t won yet, it can be a lesson to perform better in future competitions,” Prof. Kuncoro added.
Maharani, the Chairperson of the Sebelas Maret Cup 2023, also expressed her gratitude to all parties involved and the participants.
“Hopefully, you can continue to compete and achieve success in the future. We apologize if there are any shortcomings during the competition. See you at the next Sebelas Maret Cup,” Maharani said. HUMAS UNS
