UNS — At the beginning of 2024, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta added four new professors. These four new professors are ready to strengthen UNS’s position both nationally and internationally. The new professors were inaugurated by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., on Tuesday (16/1/2024) at the G.P.H. Haryo Mataram UNS Auditorium.
In a joint press conference with the media in Meeting Room 2 of the dr. Prakosa UNS Building on Monday (15/1/2024), the Secretary of the UNS Academic Senate, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Jamin, S.H., M.Hum., stated that the four new professors were Prof. Dr. Peduk Rintayati, M.Pd. from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP); Prof. Dr. dr. Trisulo Wasyanto, SpJP (K), FIHA, FAPSC, FAsCC. from the Faculty of Medicine (FK); Prof. Dr. Indah Widiastuti, S.T., M.Eng. from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), and Prof. Dr. Sc. Agr. Ir. Rahayu, S.P., M.P. from the Faculty of Agriculture (FP).
“Congratulations to the four new professors, may their respective disciplinary knowledge provide benefits not only to UNS but also to the community,” Prof. Jamin said.
Prof. Dr. Peduk Rintayati, M.Pd. is the 78th professor of FKIP and the 299th professor at UNS. She was inaugurated as a professor in the field of Elementary School Science Education at FKIP. The inaugural speech is titled ‘Strengthening Environmental Empathy in Elementary Schools through the Stimulation of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) as an Effort for Environmental Preservation.’
Prof. Dr. dr. Trisulo Wasyanto, SpJP (K), FIHA, FAPSC, FAsCC. is the 49th professor of the FK and the 300th professor at UNS. He was inaugurated as a professor in the field of Intensive Care and Cardiovascular Emergency Heart and Blood Vessel Diseases at the FK. The inaugural speech is titled ‘The Role of Novel Biomarkers in the Diagnosis and Prognosis of Acute Myocardial Infarction.’
Prof. Dr. Indah Widiastuti, S.T., M.Eng. is the 79th professor of FKIP and the 301st professor at UNS. She was inaugurated as a professor in the field of Material Engineering at FKIP. The inaugural speech is titled ‘Exploration of Recycled Plastic-Based Materials in Strengthening Green Skills in Technical Vocational Education & Training (TVET).’
Prof. Dr. Sc. Agr. Ir. Rahayu, S.P., M.P. is the 45th professor of the FP and the 302nd professor at UNS. She was inaugurated as a professor in the field of Pedology and Soil Survey at FP. The inaugural speech is titled ‘Implementation of Pedology in Meeting the Agricultural and Non-Agricultural Needs in the Future.’
Prof. Jamin hopes that these four new professors can motivate other lecturers who have not yet become professors. “Let’s be enthusiastic; hopefully, this can inspire other lecturers who are not yet professors to quickly apply and become professors,” he concluded. HUMAS UNS
