UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta has signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation agreement with the Indonesian Tax Consultants Association (IKPI). The agreement was signed by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, Business, and Information, Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D.; the Dean of the Vocational School (SV) UNS, Drs. Santoso Tri Hananto, M.Acc., Ak.; and the General Chairman of IKPI, Dr. Ruston Tambunan, Ak., CA., S.H., M.Si., M.Int.Tax, in Meeting Room 1 of the dr. Prakosa Building at UNS on Tuesday (9/7/2024).
The signing ceremony was also attended by IKPI Secretary General Jetty, S.E., M.M.; the Head of IKPI Education Department Dra. Lisa Purnamasari; the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S.; and the Director of the Directorate of Cooperation, Development, and Internationalization UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Mohamad Harisudin, M.Si.
“We hope that this cooperation will soon be followed by real activities. This step is an effort by the SV UNS to achieve a link and match with the industry. This is also in line with the education minister’s initiative for the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program,” Drs. Santoso Tri Hananto, M.Acc. said.
Santoso expressed his hopes for the collaboration between UNS and IKPI. He hopes that this partnership will be particularly beneficial for students of the Accounting and Taxation Study Programs, which are the primary focus of this cooperation. Santoso also invited IKPI to have practitioners teach at UNS to provide real industry experience.
The Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, Business, and Information, Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., added that there are many areas where industry and universities can collaborate. “In addition to internship programs, having ‘practitioners teach’ is crucial, especially for vocational schools. Students need exposure to professional competencies and relevant knowledge in the industry,” Prof. Irwan said.
The General Chairman of IKPI, Dr. Ruston Tambunan, Ak., CA., S.H., M.Si., M.Int.Tax, mentioned that UNS is the 80th university to partner with IKPI. “We warmly welcome this cooperation and hope to implement the key points outlined in the memorandum of understanding. This is the 80th partnership we have established with a university. This program can help recruiters find top talent,” Dr. Ruston explained.
