UNSUniversitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta achieved significant recognition by earning eight awards at the 2024 Anugerah Diktisaintek. This prestigious event, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) of the Republic of Indonesia, honors institutions for their contributions to higher education, research, and technological advancements. The awards were officially announced on Friday (13/12/2024).

In the Research, Technology, and Community Service category, Dr. Eng. Aditya Rio Prabowo, S.T., M.T., M.Eng., from the Faculty of Engineering (FT) UNS, was named Bronze Winner in the Outstanding Lecturer (Sinta Award) sub-category. He was recognized as the highest-scoring Sinta performer under the age of 40 for the 2021–2023 period. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Eng. Syamsul Hadi, S.T., M.T., was awarded Best Facilitator for Eastern Indonesia under the Kosabangsa Award category for his achievements in implementing Kosabangsa programs in 2023.

UNS also excelled in the Institutional Award category, winning Gold for the KNB Scholarship Management sub-category, which recognizes universities managing the Developing Country Partnership Scholarship (KNB) program. Furthermore, UNS secured Silver in the PDDikti Award category for institutions with the best PDDikti reporting performance, specifically in the PTN-BH sub-category.

In the Public Relations category, UNS achieved two awards under the PTN-BH division: Gold Winner for the Magazine sub-category and Bronze Winner for the Website sub-category. Additionally, UNS received Silver in the Collaboration Award category for its success in managing partnerships with government institutions or NGOs.

UNS was also named First Place in the Digital Learning Innovation Award category under Student Learning. This achievement was credited to Erma Kumala Sari, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psikolog., a lecturer from the Special Education Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNS. She was recognized for her innovative learning and assistive technology program for students with disabilities implemented in 2023.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro, as the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, expressed his appreciation for the hard work of all stakeholders in achieving higher education transformation and reform. “In this ever-changing era, higher education, science, and technology serve as the main pillars for building a sustainable and competitive nation on the global stage. These three pillars are key to unlocking new opportunities, addressing challenges, and strengthening Indonesia’s global competitiveness,” he stated.

He further emphasized that higher education must be managed as a center for the development of knowledge that impacts society, while science and technology act as drivers of innovation that can deliver concrete solutions for sustainable development.

“The awards presented today are not merely a form of recognition but also a motivation to move forward in realizing a more advanced and competitive higher education system in Indonesia,” Prof. Satryo stated.

Interim Secretary General of Kemendiktisaintek RI, Prof. Ir. Togar Mangihut Simatupang, M.Tech., Ph.D., highlighted the importance of the awards. He explained that Anugerah Diktisaintek recognizes universities, LLDIKTI, stakeholders, and industries for their performance in supporting national policies for higher education, research, and technology in 2024. “This event, formerly known as Anugerah Diktiristek, includes a thorough selection process, combining jury assessments and data-driven performance evaluations,” he said.

The 2024 Diktisaintek Awards mark the fourth iteration since it was renamed from the Diktiristek Awards in 2021. There are 11 award subcategories presented, including the National Priority Award, Supporting Partner Award, Learning and Student Affairs Award, Resources Award, Institutional Award, Research, Technology, and Community Service Award, Public Relations Award, Collaboration Award, PDDikti Award, Journalist Award, and Integrity Zone Award. A total of 315 awards were distributed during the 2024 Diktisaintek Awards, with recipients comprising state and private universities (PTN and PTS), LLDikti, partners, businesses and industries, ministries, institutions, and journalists.

“Each award category in the 2024 Diktisaintek Awards has undergone a series of selection processes, including judging and data evaluation, which measure the performance of higher education institutions, LLDikti, and partners from ministries, institutions, businesses, and industries that have an impact on society,” Prof. Togar stated.

UNS Rector, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., expressed his gratitude for the university’s achievements. “This recognition is a proud milestone for UNS. Thank you for everyone’s support, and I hope our accomplishments continue to grow year after year,” he concluded.
