UNS – Dr. Muhammad Rustamaji, S.H., M.H., Dean of the Faculty of Law (FH) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), has been recognized as one of the 17 Favorite State University Law Lecturers for 2024. This recognition was based on a survey conducted to honor the dedication of law lecturers in Indonesia.
According to the https://www.hukumonline.com/ website on Thursday (2/1/2025), the platform launched the 2024 Favorite Law Lecturer Award. The award celebrates not only the excellence of lecturers in fulfilling their roles as competent educators but also serves as a tribute from students for their dedication and significant contributions to creating meaningful, inspiring, and future-relevant learning experiences.
The survey was conducted to commemorate National Teacher’s Day, with support from the law firm Assegaf Hamzah and Partners (AHP). “This recognition of favorite lecturers is one way for Hukumonline to appreciate the educators who have contributed to advancing legal education in Indonesia,” Amrie Hakim, Chief Media & Engagement at Hukumonline, said on Monday (30/12/2024).

Lecturers play a pivotal role in higher education, shaping a competent and character-driven future generation. Beyond delivering theoretical knowledge, lecturers act as mentors, guiding students in developing both academic and non-academic skills. They serve as facilitators, fostering inclusive and interactive learning environments, and as motivators, inspiring students to explore their potential and confidently face future challenges.
Law lecturers, in particular, contribute significantly not only through teaching but also by advancing legal scholarship via research, academic publications, and participation in legal seminars or conferences. In today’s dynamic era, law lecturers are tasked with innovating teaching methods by incorporating technology, digital simulations, and interdisciplinary approaches, providing students with engaging and relevant learning experiences.
The 2024 Favorite Law Lecturer List features 28 lecturers from state and private universities partnering with Hukumonline. The selection was based on the highest number of votes cast by law students who participated in the 2024 Legal Higher Education Survey.
Among the 28 recognized lecturers, 17 hail from state universities (PTN), while the remaining represent private universities (PTS). The students’ votes reflect their admiration for these lecturers’ contributions to academic activities in undergraduate law faculties or study programs subscribed to Hukumonline.
“These names were chosen by students, based on a combination of the highest votes from participants in the 2024 Legal Higher Education Survey,” Amrie explained.
Dr. Muhammad Rustamaji’s inclusion in this distinguished list underscores his impactful role in shaping the academic and professional landscape of legal education at UNS and beyond.
