UNS – The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., officially inaugurated nine new professor. UNS hosted the event at the G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium on Wednesday (12/2/2025). The Open Senate Meeting of UNS included this inauguration as a key agenda. The inauguration of these nine professors marked the completion of 29 professors inducted over three consecutive days, from Monday (10/2/2025) to Wednesday (12/2/2025).

In his speech, Prof. Hartono emphasized that the inauguration was a historic and proud moment. He stated that the title of Professor is the highest academic achievement. However, it also comes with a significant responsibility. Professors must make tangible contributions to society, the nation, and the country.

“The journey towards this inauguration has not been easy. It is the result of hard work, dedication, and commitment to producing the best scientific works in their respective fields,” Prof. Hartono said.

Furthermore, he emphasized that professors play a strategic role in addressing national challenges. Their expertise enables them to develop solutions for various societal issues and contribute to national development.

“As directed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, universities today serve as centers for innovation and research. They also play a role in providing solutions to global challenges. The expertise of our professors is a valuable asset for UNS in fulfilling its mission as a university that contributes to national development,” Prof. Hartono added.

This professor’s inauguration is tangible proof that UNS continues to strive for academic and research excellence across various disciplines. With the growing number of professors, UNS aims to further strengthen its reputation both nationally and internationally.

List of Newly Inaugurated Professors

The UNS Rector officially inaugurated nine professors, each specializing in different fields of study:

Prof. Dr. Rahayu Subekti, S.H., M.Hum. – Professor of Land Use Law, delivering an inaugural speech titled “Land Use Planning for Achieving Green Cities: Strategies for Urban Green Open Space Development.” She is the 16th professor of the Faculty of Law (FH) and the 352nd professor at UNS.

Prof. Dr. Senot Sangadji, S.T., M.T. – Professor of Structural Performance, delivering an inaugural speech titled “Living with Earthquakes: Assessing Infrastructure Performance and Fragility to Mitigate Disaster Risks.” He is the 37th professor of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) and the 353rd professor at UNS.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Wijang Wisnu Raharjo, M.T. – Professor of Advanced Material Engineering Technology, delivering an inaugural speech titled “Nature-Based Advanced Materials: A New Hope for Sustainability.” He is the 38th professor of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) and the 354th professor at UNS.

Prof. Bhimo Rizky Samudro, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D. – Professor of Political Economy, delivering an inaugural speech titled “Pseudo Civilization and National Economic Sovereignty.” He is the 26th professor of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and the 355th professor at UNS.

Prof. Dr. Desi Suci Handayani, S.Si., M.Si. – Professor of Organic Polymers, delivering an inaugural speech titled “Renewable Eugenol and Anethole Biopolymers: Synthesis, Modification, and Applications.” She is the 37th professor of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) and the 356th professor at UNS.

Prof. Dr. Slamet Supriyadi, M.Pd. – Professor of Pragmatics in Fine Arts, delivering an inaugural speech titled “Pragmatics as a New Approach in Analyzing Artworks.” He is the 92nd professor of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) and the 357th professor at UNS.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Adrian Nur, S.T., M.T. – Professor of Electrochemical Process Technology – Electrochemical Engineering, delivering an inaugural speech titled “The Role of Electrochemical Engineering in Hydrogen Fuel Development.” He is the 39th professor of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) and the 358th professor at UNS.

Prof. Dr. Agus Riwanto, S.H., S.Ag., M.Ag., M.H. – Professor of Legislative Law, delivering an inaugural speech titled “Harmonization of Election Laws through Omnibus Law to Achieve a Sound Electoral Legislative System.” He is the 17th professor of the Faculty of Law (FH) and the 359th professor at UNS.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Retno Wulan Damayanti, S.T., M.T. – Professor of Project Management, delivering an inaugural speech titled “Harmonizing Humans and Technology for Sustainable Project Management.” She is the 40th professor of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) and the 360th professor at UNS.
