UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta officially launched the inaugural lecture of the collaborative class for the Professional Engineer Program (PSPPI) in partnership with PT Pertamina (Persero). The event was held at the Ballroom of Ki Hadjar Dewantara Tower, UNS, on Friday (13/2/2026).
This event marked the beginning of the collaborative class aimed at preparing outstanding and competitive professional engineers capable of meeting industrial demands and future challenges.
In his remarks, Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., stated that prior to the opening of the inaugural lecture, UNS through its Faculty of Engineering had signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with Pertamina. The agreement reflects a shared commitment to strengthening synergy between higher education institutions and the industrial sector.
The collaboration focuses on the implementation of the Professional Engineer Program (PPI), designed to align with industrial needs and contemporary developments.
Prof. Hartono explained that Pertamina has been a strategic partner of UNS since 2008. For more than a decade, both institutions have carried out various collaborative programs in education, research, community service, and human resource development.
This long-standing relationship reflects mutual trust and a shared vision to contribute to national progress.
UNS expressed its appreciation and gratitude for Pertamina’s trust in organizing this collaborative PSPPI class.
“UNS PSPPI itself has received the highest accreditation status, ‘Excellent,’ and is ranked among the top seven best Professional Engineer Programs in Indonesia. This trust is both a mandate and a responsibility for us to provide high-quality professional education that upholds engineering ethics and professional standards,” said Prof. Hartono.
Amid industrial transformation and the ongoing energy transition, the need for professional engineers with strong technical competence, integrity, leadership, collaboration skills, and sustainability awareness has become increasingly important.

The Professional Engineer Program plays a strategic role in bridging practical experience with academic foundations, producing graduates who are ready to face real-world challenges in the field.
A total of 382 PSPPI students from Pertamina personnel are participating in this collaborative class. They are expected to undergo the learning process with enthusiasm, discipline, and strong commitment so they can complete their studies on time and return to contribute solutions to national challenges, particularly in the sectors of energy, infrastructure, and technology.
Meanwhile, Vice President of Learning Management at PT Pertamina (Persero), Rosalia Ambar Yuniarti, S.H., M.H., stated that Pertamina continues to strengthen the synergy between industry and education.
This collaboration is designed to produce globally competitive engineers who are capable of responding to industrial challenges, managing operational risks comprehensively, and serving as agents of change in supporting national energy resilience and transition.
Throughout its journey, Pertamina has established strategic partnerships with various leading universities, including UNS. This year’s collaborative PPI program between Pertamina and UNS involves 382 Pertamina personnel.
Since the program began in 2023, a total of 1,879 Pertamina personnel have participated in the Professional Engineer Program as part of the company’s commitment to developing internationally standardized engineering capabilities.
Through this program, Pertamina hopes to further strengthen its strategic role in maintaining national energy stability, supported by competent, adaptive, and highly ethical professionals.
Participants are expected to manage their time effectively between professional responsibilities and academic commitments so that the entire program can be completed successfully and on schedule.
“Hopefully, this program becomes a space for Pertamina personnel to continue learning, innovating, and making their best contributions to the company, society, and the Indonesian nation,” said Rosalia.
