UNS – The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, is currently issuing a Circular (SE) Number 1480/UN27/HK/2020 Regarding Early Precautions, Preparedness, and Anticipatory Measures to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) Infection in Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, on Saturday (14/3/2020). In the circular, the UNS Rector, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, make a decision to replace a classroom face-to-face lecture into an online lecture. This decision is effective since Monday (16/3/2020).
With the issuance of the circular, teaching and learning activity in the UNS campus, both in the main Kentingan campus and branch campus, automatically is in the hold. Taking advantage of this condition, several faculties began cleaning campus facilities to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Based on uns.ac.id observation, preventive measure to clean the campus facility has been taken by some faculties, one of them is the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). The facility cleaning by the FEB UNS janitor is conducted on Monday (16/3/2020), which covers facility cleaning and disinfectant spray on the Deanery room, administration room, lecture room, classroom, laboratory, student activity unit room, and toilet. The cleaning also covers the Mushola Al Latif FEB. To support the religious activities at the mosque, FEB UNS encourages that the congregation brings their own prayer rugs and mukenas.
“During this situation, cleaning and disinfectant spray on the facilities is important. I hope that all UNS academic members support this program. Let’s together make UNS become a healthy campus, started from FEB,” said the Dean of FEB UNS, Prof. Djoko Suhardjanto.
For a whole day, the cleaning staff continues to do the cleaning and spraying disinfectant. During the spray, all Dean and staff of FEB UNS are requested to remain outside the room while waiting for the disinfectant smell to disappear.
Measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 were also carried out by the Faculty of Law (FH) UNS, the Dean of FH UNS, Prof. Gusti Ayu Ketut Rachmi Handayani, mentioned that the Covid-19 infection prevention has been made since long ago by providing hand sanitizers in FH UNS. “We in FH UNS have provided hand sanitizer even before Solo is declared as KLB Corona and next morning we planned to do disinfectant spraying in all areas of FH UNS to be free from Covid-19,” explains Prof. Ayu.
Other than that, the Faculty of Culture Study (FIB) UNS also did the same by placing a number of hand sanitizers in several strategic hallway points. Further, FIB UNS will conduct disinfectant spraying on Thursday (19/3/2020).
“We placed hand sanitizers and tomorrow is scheduled for work from home for staff, following the predetermined schedule. On Thursday we will hold a disinfectant spray in the FIB area. As an educational step regarding coronavirus, FIB posted information on how to wash hands according to WHO and UNS Hospital guidelines,” said one of PR staff in FEB UNS, Asep Budi Santoso.
