UNS — The Student Creativity Program in Community Service (PKM-M) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, offers an innovation program for Correctional Student Empowerment (Andikpas) for the Children’s Special Development Institution (LPKA) Class II B Yogyakarta on Saturday (15/8/2020). This team is collaborating with LPKA Yogyakarta as a partner because they consider that the Andikpas skills development program in LPKA has not performed optimally.

The program entitled Innovation for Correctional Student Empowerment (Andikpas) Using Bamboo Batik Speaker (Booster), was presented virtually by a team led by Rima Sumiar Achrima (Faculty of Law), Rokhmatun Hanifah (Faculty of Law), Erina Rahayu (Faculty of Art and Design), and Syaifullah Fillard Latifan (Faculty of Engineering), to the Head of Work Unit in LPKA, Teguh Suroso Amd.IP., S.H. In his remarks, Mr. Teguh welcomes the collaboration offered by PKM-M Team from UNS. He wishes that this collaboration can support the optimization of Andikpas’ skill improvement.

Further, Dr. Muhammad Rustamaji, S.H., M.H., as the supervisor of the UNS PKM-M Team, states that the strict requirements from the employer during the selection process, which demands the applicants to have no criminal records, has made a practical and applicable education and training is needed by Andikpas.

Hopefully, Booster can be used as tools for Andikpas to maximize their potential, especially to hone a skill and grow Andikpas entrepreneurial spirit. Therefore, after the correctional precess in LPKA is over, they will have the skill to compete individually in the industrial 4.0 era. In a writing, the Leader of PKM-M FH UNS, Rima Sumiar Achrima, does not forget to express her gratitude to the LPKA for welcoming the good intention from the PKM-M FH UNS to establish a collaboration.

“Hopefully, this collaboration in Booster-Based Andikpas Empowerment can bring a benefit and implemented in a sustainable manner,” Rima said. HUMAS UNS
