UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta in collaboration with the Indonesian Red-Cross Organization (PMI) organized a blood donation at G.P.H Haryo Mataram Auditorium UNS, Tuesday (29/12/2020). This event was organized to celebrate the end of 2020 and as a form of UNS concern to the community during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho states that the blood donation was conducted under the ‘UNS Care for Covid-Save Others’ theme. “This blood donor is a form of our concern and community engagement, from UNS for Surakarta Community and its surrounding area, especially area with active Covid-19 cases,” Prof. Jamal explains, on Sunday (27/12/2020).
To support the activity, Prof. Jamal encourages all UNS unit leaders, academic staff, academic support staff, students, and alumni as well as Covid-19 survivors to participate in the blood donor program following the determined schedule.
“Thus, this blood donor program will adhere to the health protocol. The scheduled time for FH, FEB, FKIP, and FP is 08.30-10.30 AM. Followed by FT, FISIP, FMIPA, and FKOR on 10.30 AM-12.30 PM. Break from 12.30-13.00 and will be started again for FSRD, FIB, FK, the Bureaus, Institutes, Vocational School, Postgraduate Program, UNS Hospital, and UPT, on 13.00-15.30. Prof. Jamal adds.
In this event, the committee collects information from UNS academic members who recovered from Covid-19 as prospective convalescent plasma donors to help colleagues with severe Covid-19 symptoms. Humas UNS
