Discussing Resilient Society, FISIP UNS Held ICOSAPS 2020 Online

UNS – Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic, the International Conference on Social and Political Sciences (ICOSAPS) FISIP UNS in 2020 will still be implemented. This International Conference is an annual agenda, reaching its 6th year since its inauguration. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the current year event will be held online.

The ICOSAPS 2020 Managing Committee, Dr. Andre Rahmanto, reveals that this year ICOSAPS will be held on 7-8 October 2020, presenting four international speakers Dr. Ismi Dwi Astuti Nurhaeni, M.Si (Universitas Sebelas Maret), Prof. Svetlana Bodrunova (St. Petersburg State University Russia), Prof. Dr. Normah Mustaffa (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia), and Dr. Azhar Ibrahim Alwee (National University of Singapore-NUS).

Andre adds that this ICOSAPS 2020 will take on the theme of Strengthening the Resilient Society in the Disruptive Era. The theme is relevant to the current condition, where the world has entered the Industrial Revolution 4.0 along with the development of the Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical System, which makes things faster and easier while bringing disruption to all lines of life. The disruption shock requires the community to continue to adapt and establishing resilience. This theme coincides with the global crisis conditions due to a pandemic, thus also become a place to share various social and political research studies related to the Covid-19 pandemic from several countries.

“The articles from this conference will be published in an indexed international proceeding, Scopus indexed journals, and SINTA accredited journals,” explains Dr. Andre, Thursday (16/7/2020).

Meanwhile, the Secretary of ICOSAPS, Tiyas Nur Haryani, states that the ICOSAPS 2020 Call for Papers accepts 361 participants’ articles from Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, India, Pakistan, China, Taiwan, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Spain. This conference aims to be a forum to share, analyze, and discuss the problems within the study of social change, digital media, innovation, politics, environment, health, and other related topics, in order to establish a new understanding towards strengthening resilient communities in a disruptive era. Further, ICOSAPS 2020 is expected to able to build networks among researchers and academics on related issues at the local, national, regional, and international levels. Humas UNS
