UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta students achieved another proud accomplishment by winning Islamic Law Fair held by Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) Semarang on 27-29 March 2020. These students are Muhamad Alief Hidayat as the team leader and Setya Hanung Surya Dewi, Yustika Rusydiana, Nadine Rayna Salsabila, and Resti Remandha as team members. The students from Law Science Program Faculty of Law (FH) UNS won second place in Legislative Drafting competition.
This result cannot be separated from their careful preparation. One of the team members, Resti Remandha stated that the team has prepared themselves for the Legislative Drafting Islamic Law Fair by reading the Law on Public Information Disclosure, position case, and learning from their senior’s experience in legal drafting. Under the supervision of Dr. Sunny Ummul Firdaus, Resti and team joined all stages of the competition starting from document selection, announcement, and question and answer session.
“From the result (of document selection) the committee announced participants who qualify to the final round. Due to the pandemic, the managing committee adjusted the presentation and question and answer session. Each delegation that is qualified to the final round are required to send presentation video and PowerPoint for final assessment by the juries,” Resti Remandha explained on Tuesday (1/9/2020).
Even though the competition was delayed due to the pandemic, UNS students has proven their quality by fighting other universities, such as Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) Veteran Yogyakarta, and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta in the competition.
With the result they achieved, Resti represents the team conveyed their gratitude and hopes that the younger generation will be more sensitive in paying attention to the latest issues. Humas UNS
