UNS — The International Office of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta invited alumni and students to join the U-Sharing: Let’s Study to Germany “Chatting with Students and Alumni of Germany University in UNS” and discuss their experience studying in Germany, Sunday (9/8/2020). The event was held through Zoom and live stream in UNS YouTube channel and invited three speakers, Fajar Danur Isnantyo, M. Sc (alumnus Master of Hydroscience Engineering Techische Universitat Dresden), Anggy Pradita (student of Universitat Munster), and Dr. paed. Nurma Yunita (alumnus Universitat Munster).
The event was opened by the Vice-Rector for Partnership and Planning Affairs UNS, Prof. Sajidan, who appreciated International Office FKIP UNS for initiating the event in his remark. The first speaker to deliver a speech was Fajar Danur Isnantyo, M. Sc. His speech, “Vortrag auf Deutsch”, shared interesting things he found during his study and why he selected Germany to pursue his master degree. Fajar Danur Isnantyo, M. Sc who is also a Faculty Member in Structural Engineering Education (PTB) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNS conveyed that it is hard for him to point out the best university in Germany, as supported by Dr. paed. Nurma Yunita, an alumnus from Universitat Munster. She mentioned that continuing study is Germany is the right choice because the country is the largest economic power in Europe and third globally. It is also open its education for 250,000 foreign students.
Anggy Pradita also shared her experience in preparing herself to study in Germany which started from the language course, studienkolleg, determine the program, preparing motivation letter, CV, language test, and applying for a visa. With the participants, Anggy Pradita also explained the studienkolleg; an educational institution that needs to be taken before entering higher education to prepare students from outside Germany whose high school diploma is not equal to Germany high school diploma or abitur. Anggy Pradita also discussed student visa requirements which include the translation of documents by sworn translators, motivation letter and CV, proof of sperrkonto in Germany Bank, and zulassung or acceptance letter (einladung) for aufnahmeprüfung from studienkolleg in Germany.
