Javanese Language Education Research Group UNS Organizes Entrepreneurship Assistance

UNS — The Javanese Literature and Culture Study and Its Teaching Research Group, from the Javanese Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, organize a community service program in SMA Unggulan CT ARSA Sukoharjo. The theme of this program is ‘Entrepreneurship Training and Assistance, Based on Javanese Language and Culture for High School Students in Sukoharjo District”.

Dr. Djoko Sulaksono, M.Pd., as the Head of the Research Group, states that “This event provides entrepreneurship training and assistance, based on Javanese culture to students that can be implemented in daily life, such as writing poem, short stories, and essay, that later can be submitted to magazines,” on Wednesday (30/9/2020).

Aside from the writing activity that was held at the beginning of September, precisely on Tuesday (8/9/2020), the research group also organizes training to be a good and professional Master of Ceremony (MC). According to Dr. Djoko, competency in reading and writing Javanese character is rare, thus the opportunity is great.

The community service activity was held virtually due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and most of the students are returned to their home region. This activity becomes an annual event hosted by the research group. With this community service, Dr. Djoko wishes to improve the participation of the Javanese Language Education Study Program in supporting entrepreneurship.

“Hopefully, this can improve the participation of FKIP UNS, especially the Javanese Language Education Study Program in supporting entrepreneurship,” Dr. Djoko concluded. Humas UNS
