UNS—Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta has officially sent off students to participate in the Community Service Program (KKN). This time, the KKN students were handed over to the Government of Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), during a ceremonial event held at the Asi Mbojo Museum in Bima Regency.
The ceremony was attended by UNS Vice Rector for Human Resources, Prof. Dr. E. Muhtar, S.Pd., M.Si., CFrA., who formally handed over the students to Bima Regency Assistant I, Fatahullah, S.Pd. In his remarks, Prof. Muhtar expressed his hopes that the students would make a tangible contribution to the community by implementing their planned programs. “We hope KKN UNS students will seize this opportunity to learn directly from the community and create a positive impact through their innovation and service in the field,” he stated during the handover event on Sunday (12/1/2025).
Fatahullah, S. Pd. warmly welcomed the students, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the students and the local government in supporting community development. “We greatly appreciate UNS’s initiative to send students to conduct KKN in Bima Regency. We believe this collaboration will benefit significantly to the community, especially in the villages where the students will be stationed,” Fatahullah said.
Two groups of KKN UNS students will be deployed in two locations. The first group will serve in Sangiang Village, Wera District, while the second group will be stationed in Poja Village, Sape District. The KKN program is designed to assist the community in various areas, including economic empowerment, education, healthcare, and environmental conservation.
Additionally, the students are encouraged to document and promote the local wisdom of the Bima community, sharing it with a broader audience. This program reaffirms UNS’s commitment to building synergy with regional governments to achieve sustainable development.
The event concluded with a group photo featuring representatives from UNS, the Bima Regency Government, Field Supervising Lecturers (DPL), and the KKN students. The students expressed enthusiasm as they prepared to begin their service in Bima’s communities. The KKN program will run for 45 days, with the hope that the students will deliver meaningful contributions to the community while gaining valuable experiences for their personal and professional growth.
