
UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta hosted a vibrant fun walk and morning exercise to celebrate its 49th Dies Natalis. The university held the event on Saturday (12/4/2025) in front of the dr. Prakosa Building. This energetic event was part of the university’s sports-themed anniversary agenda. It featured a nostalgic performance by the music group OM Lorenza, adding excitement to the celebration.
The Rector of UNS and the Vice Rectors attended the event. Members of the academic community from various faculties, institutions, directorates, and units also joined the celebration. Many participants brought along their families, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere.
A Festive Start to the Day
Rector Prof. Hartono officially opened the event with a warm greeting. He launched the fun walk in front of the Rectorate Building. The route circled the main campus and returned to the starting point. It brought together students, lecturers, and staff in a shared spirit of celebration.
In his welcoming speech, Prof. Hartono expressed sincere gratitude. He also acknowledged the enthusiastic support from both the academic community and the public.





“This morning, as part of UNS’s 49th Dies Natalis, we are organizing a fun walk and morning exercise. This is the peak of a series of events that began in February,” he said. “Our celebration has included academic forums, sports competitions, cultural shows, community service programs, and today’s main event.”
Music, Prizes, and Community Spirit
He encouraged everyone to stay until the end of the program, where dozens of door prizes were up for grabs. OM Lorenza also delivered a nostalgic music performance, energizing the crowd and adding a festive touch to the morning.
“Today’s event is all about joy and nostalgia,” Prof. Hartono continued. “After the walk, please change into your retro outfits. I have prepared mine, too!” he added with a cheerful smile.
In closing, Prof. Hartono emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through regular physical activity. He highlighted that this celebration reflects UNS’s commitment to physical and mental well-being.
“Let us continue working together to move UNS forward as a World Class University. Through collaboration, we can contribute more meaningfully to society, the nation, and the world.”
