UNS — The Campus Life Introduction for New Students (PKKMB) in Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Arjunagata 2022, managed to break a record at the Indonesian World Record Museum or Muri. The event recorded the Longest Batik Fabric Coloring by UNS New Students, involving 7,255 UNS New Students, with the total length of the dyed fabric 3,300 meters.
Meanwhile, last year, UNS PKKMB Candradimuka 2021 also managed to break the Muri record for the largest paper-mob configuration with a total of 5,200 new student participants. The inauguration of the record on the Longest Batik Fabric Coloring by UNS New Students was delivered by Sri Widayati as the representative of Muri at the event held in the Courtyard of Dr. Prakosa UNS, Sunday (21/8/2022).
“And on behalf of the General Chairman of Muri, we announce that the ‘Longest Batik Fabric Coloring by UNS New Students’ is officially recorded in the Indonesian Museum of World Records. Congratulations on this wonderful achievement,” she said.
In front of the UNS PKKMB Arjunagata 2022 and UNS New Students committee, Sri Widayati also submitted a symbolic charter of Muri’s record-breaking plaque. “On this day, Sunday, August 21, 2022, we, again, recorded an achievement in the Muri by coloring batik on the longest fabric, which is 3,300 meters, with 7,255 UNS New Students participants,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, expressed his admiration for this Muri’s record-breaking award. “I am proud of all of you, UNS New Students who, even though you have just joined UNS, yet you have carved out extraordinary achievements,” said Prof. Jamal in his speech.
Prof. Jamal added that this achievement is UNS’ 13th Muri record-breaking. Further, he revealed that, as a large family of UNS academics members, all parties must be proud since UNS is not yet 50 years old, yet has been able to accomplish numerous achievements that are not only at the national level but also international levels.
“I’m sure in 2022, we’ll have a new force because there are more than 10,000 new students enrolled, selected from more than 70,000 prospective students applied to enter UNS. This achievement means that you are the winning generation to enter Higher Education at UNS. I thank and congratulate you on breaking Muri’s record,” concluded Prof. Jamal. Humas UNS
