UNS – The online lectures in Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta is extended until 30 April 2020. This was delivered by the Rector of UNS in a Circular Number 13/UN27/SE/2020 regarding Enforcement of Activity Restriction on UNS Campus.
“UNS implements a policy of activity restriction in the campus started from 26 of March until April 30th, 2020. This is a follow up from the previous Rector’s Circular issued on March 14th, 2020. Therefore, the online lectures that were scheduled until 28th March 28, 2020, is extended. This measure is taken to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” explains the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho.
There are several points in the Circular, among others, Teaching and Learning activity keep going using online lectures, thus the students follow the online lectures from home.
Moreover, all UNS staff are encouraged to do their job from their home, with an exception for Academic Staff who have additional job positions such as Rector, Vice-Rector, Rector’s Expert Staff, Dean and Vice Dean, Chairman and Secretary of Senate, Head and Secretary of Institution, Director and Vice Director, as well as structural academic support staff who work on General and Domestic Affairs, Finance, Information Technology, and Chief Secretariat, a schedule for workdays for these exceptional positions will be regulated.
Furthermore, specifically for the staff at UNS Hospital and Medical Center, either medical, paramedical, and academic support staff requested to remain working, and the schedule will be regulated separately by the Director of the UNS Hospital. Moreover, all non-academic activities are temporarily postponed or rescheduled. The access to the campus is limited under strict supervision by the Campus Security Unit Officer, by considering the access to vital location and emergency needs.
“The Rector or any appointed officers can provide permission to UNS Academic Members or particular parties, due to the nature of their work or needs, especially for all activities related to the prevention and/or control of Covid-19, require them to enter-exiting the campus,” said Prof. Jamal.
Prof. Jamal stressed that all Head of each Work Unit is obligated to implement the Circular by considering the emergency condition and safety standard. Humas UNS/Bayu
