UNS – The Diploma-3 Informatics Engineering Study Program (Prodi) Vocational School (SV) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta organized the Smart IT Festival (SIF) 2023 at Surakarta City Hall on 23-24 September 2023. SIF 2023 carried the theme of “Digital Creativity for Indonesia,” aligning with the current developments in artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and metaverse technologies in Indonesia, fostering technological creativity among the Gen-Z and Gen-Y generations. The event hosted 60 participants and showcased 30 of the latest IT products created by students and lecturers. Additionally, it featured a UI/UX competition with 25 participants from various universities in Indonesia.
SIF 2023, spanning two days, also invited national experts: Ir. Onno W. Purbo, Ph.D., as a speaker on “Strategy for using AI in Industry 5.0”; Ageng Wijaya Budiharjo, Managing Director of Monster Group Indonesia, discussing “Business Opportunities in the Metaverse”; and Yani Aji Susilo, Director of OSI Yogyakarta, presenting “Digital Marketing 5.0”. The moderators for the event were Fendi Aji Purnomo, S.Sc., M.Eng., and Nanang Maulana Yoeseph, S.Si., M.Cs., from the D3 Informatics Engineering Study Program SV UNS.
The event was opened by the Head of the Surakarta Communication and Information Office, Heny Ermawati, SH., M.Hum., and Dr. Eng. Ir. Herman Saputro, S.Pd., M.Pd., M.T. from UNS. In their opening remarks, they expressed gratitude to the speakers, Expo IT participants, UI/UX Competition participants, and attendees who contributed to SIF 2023.
“AI, IoT, and metaverse technologies are the future. IT products must be based on real societal needs to provide genuine benefits for all and foster sustainable business growth,” Herman Saputro added.
The subsequent agenda included the delivery of national IT seminar materials by the speakers and discussion sessions. On the first day, Yani Aji Susilo presented “Digital Marketing 5.0.” Next, the second session by Ir. Onno W Purbo, Ph. D., focused on “Strategy for Using AI in Industry 5.0,” emphasizing the maximization of Orange Data Mining and Data Visualization. On the second day, Ageng Wijaya Budiharjo presented “Business Opportunities in Metaverse”, followed by a talk show featuring Aulion discussing “Creativity in Technological Development”.
On both days, 30 of the latest IT products created by students and lecturers were showcased, with five standout products: IoTanic, AntiHama, VR Solo Safari, OSI Farm, and Wisata.id. The second day also featured the final judging of the UI/UX competition, involving the Bingo team from Universitas Brawijaya, the NovaLabs team from STT Telkom Surabaya, and AMK Revolution from IBI Kesatuan Bogor.
“SIF is held annually with the primary goal of publicizing and disseminating IT products created by students and lecturers of the D3 Informatics Engineering Study Program SV UNS to business and industrial partners and the wider community,” Yudho Yudhanto, S.
