UNS – To enhance global competitiveness and academic excellence, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta continues strengthening its international collaborations. During the AppliedHE Xchange 2025 event on Sunday (23/2/2025), the UNS Rector, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., attended the event. He signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement involved 20 new partners, including universities and corporations. These partners consisted of both domestic and international institutions. The signing took place at InterContinental Bali.
UNS Strengthens Global Academic Collaboration
Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Planning, Cooperation, Internationalization, and Information, emphasized the significance of these agreements.
“At AppliedHE Xchange 2025, UNS is establishing partnerships with 20 institutions, ranging from universities to corporations. These collaborations align with our commitment to sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They specifically focus on fostering strategic alliances,” Prof. Irwan stated.
Through these partnerships, UNS aims to enhance research capabilities, improve educational programs, and facilitate student exchanges. Additionally, the agreements will support technological advancements to address global challenges.
Mandy Mok, CEO of AppliedHE, also highlighted the importance of these collaborations. “This agreement is more than just a document—it represents a gateway to groundbreaking opportunities. With strong commitment and enthusiasm from all parties, these partnerships will generate meaningful outcomes with tangible impacts,” she affirmed.


Expanding International University Partnerships
UNS formalized agreements with eight international universities, including:
- Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP), Philippines
- Adamson University, Philippines
- Sunway University, Malaysia
- Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges, Philippines
- Jesselton University College (JUC), Malaysia
- Pangasinan State University, Philippines
- UYCP, Malaysia
- Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU), Malaysia
Strengthening Domestic Collaborations
In addition to international partnerships, UNS signed MoUs with several Indonesian universities and corporations, including:
