Students of Indonesian Language and Literature Program UNS Won 2nd Prize in Public Service Advertisement Competition

UNS — Proud accomplishment was achieved by two students from the Indonesian Language and Literature Program Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. The proud students are Bayu Aji Prasetya and Jahabidz Marha Shoffiyah Al-Afiah, who won 2nd position in National Public Service Advertisement Competition in November 2020.

The competition was held by the Student Association (Syiar Kegiatan Mahasiswa – SKM) Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Universitas Mulawarman. The team made a video on the importance of maintaining physical and spiritual health during the pandemic, which brought them to the limelight and outdid participants from other universities. “People should pay attention not only to their physical health but also their spiritual health. Both should be balanced,” Jahabidz explained on Thursday (21/1/2021).

The competition was held online, and participants submitted their two-minutes videos through Google Drive. The competition result was announced in late November 2020. In their 59 seconds video, Bayu and Jahabidz’s shows the activities that can improve the physical and spiritual immune system and invited people to stay healthy amid the pandemic.

Both students stated that they are grateful for their victory and never thought of winning with their short preparation. Jahabidz also said that they only submitted their work 15 minutes before the closing. With this achievement, they hope to continue to create between the time-consuming undergraduate thesis they are currently completing.

“We hope that we can continue to create even though we are at the end of our study. Status and condition are not a limiter to keep thriving,” Jahabidz concluded. Humas UNS
